As a stay at home mom, I understand the struggle of trying to make ends meet. When your one income stays consistent, but prices of EVERYTHING go up (A pack of hot dogs and hot dog buns costs close to $10 in NY!), it's easy to feel despair. But there ARE some ways to make life a little easier. I've figured out some tips and tricks and I want to share them with you!
You know I will tell you to use coupons! They DO help! It might not seem like a huge help to save a dollar here or there, but it does add up. If you can save just $5 a week, you will be motivated to save more. Never pay full price for anything and ALWAYS make a list. Check out these resources before you start!
The Beginner's Guide to Crazy Couponing
Use Your Smartphone When You Grocery Shop
Enter contests!!!! Now, I know this seems like a stupid idea, but it really isn't! I've won SO many amazing things by entering contests on Facebook! Now, you probably won't win $10000, but you can win so many amazing prizes! Local contests are a great way to increase your odds! I recently won a $100 gift certificate to a local supermarket! I've also won tickets to see Disney on Ice and Disney Live. And if you win an item that you have no use for, you can always sell it for extra cash!
Sweepstakes tips and tricks
Try out cash earning sites. Now, I hate long surveys I never qualify for either, but there are so many great sites that reward you for using their search engines, printing coupons, watching videos, or clicking on websites! There are also great apps you can use for doing the same.
Making Money MASTER LIST
Sell your unwanted stuff! If you have gift cards you are never going to use, sell them for a small fee on Raise.
You can also sell on Ebay, Craigslist or local neighborhood groups on Facebook. Another trick I use? My husband works construction in offices all throughout Manhattan. He often finds amazing things that are being thrown out! He's found computers, chandeliers, office chairs and more! He often brings these things home (with permission of course), fixes them up, and I sell them! It's usually a 100% profit (unless we need to buy parts to fix the item up).
